We’ll definitely be taking less paracetamol…
Paracetamol is one of the most commonly used painkillers for quickly alleviating aches and pains. We tend to take one of these pills for the smallest of aches already, but now we’ve found out about this strange side effect we’ll think twice about taking one.
We don’t think anyone would’ve expected this side effect.
Paracetamol doesn’t just reduce pain, it also lowers your empathy. For a little while, you’re a truly different person and not in a positive sense. This sounds bizarre, but researchers from Ohio State University are convinced that paracetamol causes you to be less empathetic towards other people. “If you are having an argument with your spouse and you just took [paracetamol], … you might be less understanding of what you did to hurt your spouse’s feelings,” the researchers say.
So, how did they find out about this? Read about it on the next page!
