Losing some weight by adding a few ingredients to our daily supply of coffee? We won’t say no to that! Through a minimum amount of effort you can still lose that last kilo. We’ll take it!

One in five people puts “losing weight” on their list of New Year resolutions each year. Of course, it’s a very good idea, were it not for the fact that the large majority throws in the towel after a month already and cancels their gym subscription. Luckily, going to the gym isn’t the only thing you can do to lose weight. If you add these two ingredients to your coffee each day you’ll speed up your metabolism. You won’t lose ten kilos because of this, but every little bit counts, right?

This is what you need:

  • 180 ml coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • optional: 150 g raw honey

This is how to do it:
Mix all ingredients into a smooth paste. Transfer the paste to a glass jar and keep this in the fridge. When you make your morning cup of coffee, add one or two tablespoons of the paste to your coffee. Stir well and drink it all up. Added bonus: it tastes yummy!

Why does it work?
Cinnamon has been renowned for its health benefits for years. It contains antioxidants that neutralise radicals, stabilise blood sugar and boost your metabolism. It also makes it easier for your body to break down sugars. The good oils in coconut oil help your metabolism to work better, which causes your body to burn fats more quickly. The honey, which is optional, will lift the drink to an even higher level. It provides all the vitamins and minerals you need. You should choose raw honey for this, though!
