Cutting your own hair? This is how you do it!

Read this properly before you cut off your own hair

A visit to the hairdresser can be quite expensive. Especially if you have a hairstyle that needs to be touched up regularly, you can end up having to pay a lot of money on a monthly basis. We can imagine that you might want to find a way to lower (or even eliminate!) these costs. Playing hairdresser at home might be the way to go, but how do you make sure you don’t mess it up?

Of course, hairdressing is a profession on its own, but it’s not impossible to give it a try at home. It’s important to follow a few basic rules before cutting off your hair, though.

1. Use hair-cutting shears

The scissors you use for cutting open packaging and boxes are better left in their proper place – they’re definitely not suitable to use on your hair. When you do use normal scissors for that purpose, your hair will get split ends sooner and that’s not a good look. That’s why it’s best to invest in hair-cutting shears if you plan on cutting your own hair regularly. This might sound like it will cost a lot of money, but you can get a pair of these shears on the internet for less than 20 euros.
