8 unexpected things you could clean using soft drinks

There are many things you can clean using soft drinks!

We can’t get enough of fun, special household tricks, and we’ve got a good one for you today! It turns out that different types of soft drinks are very handy when it comes to cleaning! Do you have a bottle of soda that’s gone flat? Don’t throw the drink out – use it to clean with.

Your toilet will be squeaky clean again with the help of some coke!

1. Drain

The carbonic acid in soft drinks is amazing to get rid of the gunk that’s stuck in your drain. So, you should use a new bottle for this since a bottle of soda that’s gone flat won’t work due to the lack of carbonic acid. Simply pour a bottle of carbonated soda through the drain and then rinse with hot water. This also works amazing for your toilet: pouring a bottle of coke down the toilet won’t just cause the bowl to shine, but it will also solve any possible blockages down the drain.

2. Pots and pans

Burning your food isn’t just a waste of food, it can also have a bad effect on your pot or pan. In some cases, it can seem completely impossible to clean a pot again after you’ve burned food in it. Luckily, there’s an easy way to get your pot squeaky clean again. Pour some coke into a pot or pan and put it on the stove on low heat for 15 to 30 minutes. Afterwards, you’ll be able to easily clean the pot with a scouring sponge.

3. Grease stains

Did you get a grease stain in your clothes due to greasy food, oil or makeup? Then you should add a can (or a large glass) of transparent soda like Sprite or 7up to your laundry. Wash your clothes like you normally would (that includes laundry detergent) and you will notice the grease stains will have disappeared when the clothes come out again.

4. Chewing gum

Well, accidents happen – and a disproportionate amount of them seem to include chewing gum. Did you accidentally get chewing gum stuck in your hair? Getting it out by hand is nearly impossible. That’s why you should fill a bowl with coke and put the strand of hair with the gum in there. Let it soak for a little bit and you will be able to remove the gum with ease. You might have to sit in an uncomfortable position for a few minutes, but it beats having gum in your hair!
