We can’t ignore it: the coronavirus is the main topic of conversation. You only have to watch the news, open Facebook or just chat with a neighbor and you will be confronted with it again. In any case, let’s hope we can prevent more people from getting sick by, for instance, boosting our immune system.

Go back to the basics

“Unfortunately, there is no magic formula to boost your immune system,” Dr. Shannon Sovndal tells PureWow. “It really comes down to the basics: the things your parents or grandparents taught you. Eat healthy, get enough sleep, avoid stress as much as possible, don’t touch your mouth or nose, and wash your hands!” Doctor Rand McClain agrees and emphasizes: “Get enough sleep!”

Choose the right meals

They say you are what you eat. And of course, we all know that unhealthy foods don’t make you healthy. What should you eat to support your immune system? Doctor Raphael Kellman provides a list:

  • Non-starchy vegetables
  • Lean protein
  • Seafood caught in the wild
  • Organic eggs
