Cram it full or not? 4 of your most pressing dishwasher questions answered

Are you aware of the do’s and don’ts when it comes to your dishwasher?

Back in the day, everyone just had to do the dishes by hand, even if you had a family of eight (or more). Luckily, modern technology has blessed us with the dishwasher. It’s wonderful to have a machine that does the dishes for you, but do you know all you should know about your dishwasher?

We answer some important dishwasher questions!

1. Should you fill the dishwasher to the brim?

Of course, you shouldn’t stuff so many heavy dishes on the top shelf that it caves in under the weight of it all. However, you should basically fill up the dishwasher as much as possible (within reason – don’t overfill it). Do you have a whole bunch of glasses that all fit in the machine? Put them all in! What you shouldn’t do is stack plates or other dishes on top of each other. Also, you should always make sure the spray arm can still move around freely.

2. Will my dishes still come out as clean if I use the eco cycle?

Definitely! When you use the eco cycle, your dishes will come out just as clean as when you use a regular cycle. The eco cycle uses much less water and energy, so it’s actually a lot better to use this than a regular cycle. The only downside is that it might take a little longer, but if you run your dishwasher at night, there’s no problem there.
