Cat Kept Bringing Home Wet Dollar Bills, Then the Owner Decided to Follow It…

The following afternoon, the GPS app on Richard's phone pinged. Max was on the move again. Richard laced up his boots and stepped out into the drizzly air, keeping his eyes glued to the live blue dot on his screen. The route took him far past his own property line, winding deep into a stretch of overgrown, forgotten woodland that sat between local farmland and the interstate highway.

Following the signal on foot, Richard pushed through wet thorn bushes and crossed muddy ditches. The journey was far longer than he ever expected a domestic cat to travel. The blue dot finally settled near a rusted, concrete drainage culvert buried deep under a highway embankment. Puddles of stagnant rainwater collected around the mouth of the pipe, surrounded by dense weeds.

As Richard approached the tree line overlooking the culvert, he caught a sudden glint of paper in the mud. Right outside the pipe’s opening sat two loose, wet bills that had floated out from inside—the exact "toys" Max had been stumbling upon. Before Richard could step closer, heavy footsteps crunched on the gravel above.
