Cat Kept Bringing Home Wet Dollar Bills, Then the Owner Decided to Follow It…

The next morning, Max woke up and immediately darted to his hiding spot under the couch, searching for his new favorite plaything. Finding nothing, the tabby let out an annoyed meow and slipped back out through the cat door into the morning mist. Three hours later, the familiar plastic flap clattered at the back door. Richard turned to find Max trotting across the linoleum, proudly carrying another damp $100 bill and guarding it with the same playful ferocity.

By Friday, the absurdity had officially crossed into paranoia. Eight neat, identical $100 bills were laid out across Richard’s kitchen table, drying beneath paperweights like a tiny fortune. Richard spent hours searching local community forums and walking the perimeter of his rural property, looking for signs of a lost wallet or an upset neighbor. Nothing. The bills didn't seem like random luck anymore. Max was clearly returning to a specific, renewable source.

Unable to shake the uneasy feeling that he was accidentally harboring stolen property, Richard ordered a compact GPS tracker online. It was ridiculously expensive for a pet accessory, but considering his kitchen table was currently holding $800, he figured he could afford to pay for it. As soon as it arrived, he clipped the small plastic pod onto Max’s collar and waited for the cat's next move.
