Your Closet Could Be Full of Things You Never Wear
Your closet is another place where “someday” can become a permanent storage strategy. Start with clothes that don't fit. Maybe you're hoping they'll fit again one day, or perhaps you simply don't want to admit that you never liked wearing them. Either way, clothes that sit untouched aren't doing much for you. Then look at anything you haven't worn in the past year. That doesn't mean every rarely worn item has to go.
Formal clothing and seasonal pieces can obviously have their place. But if something has been sitting untouched through multiple seasons, ask yourself why. Shoes, purses, scarves and accessories deserve the same treatment. You may also find yourself holding onto several versions of the same thing simply because you keep buying new ones.
And don't forget those special-occasion outfits. If you've accumulated several dresses, suits or other formal pieces that haven't been worn in years, you probably don't need every single one. The goal isn't to have an empty closet. It's to make room for the things you actually enjoy wearing. Because there isn't much point in owning a closet full of clothes if you still feel like you have nothing to wear.
