Yum, pan-fried potato slices. It goes with pretty much everything as a side dish. We’re big fans! Luckily, these days the supermarket sells those super easy bags with pre-sliced, pre-fried potato slices. It saves you a lot of time you’d otherwise have to spend on peeling, slicing and cooking the potatoes.

The only problem is… Those slices from a bag are a lot more difficult to get truly crispy than the home made version. Home made potato slices are always crispy in no time, but the slices that come in a bag remain a bit pale and soft. It’s definitely less tasty, but we also don’t feel like going to the trouble of peeling an entire bag of potatoes… Luckily, we’ve got the trick that’ll make sure your pre-sliced, pre-fried potato slices will be just as crispy as the real deal!

Paprika
All you need is a microwave and a bit of paprika! Poke some holes in the packaging and let the slices cook for 3 minutes in the microwave at full power. Then you can fry them in a very hot pan with a combination of 50% oil and 50% butter. Sprinkle salt, pepper and paprika on them: this is what gives it that extra crispy crust!
