Odd, but true: use shaving foam to clean these 5 things in your home

Do you have a can of shaving foam lying around? Use it to clean!

It may not have been your first guess, but shaving foam has more uses than just ensuring a smooth shave. From the kitchen to the bathroom, every space in your home benefits from this rather odd cleaning supply. When you see how useful it is, you might put an extra can in your kitchen cabinet!

You can easily clean these 5 things with shaving foam.

1. Stains

Stains are easily made: from an accidental spill on your carpet to a nasty stain in your favourite white top. You might think the stain will ruin the fabric making it ripe for the garbage can, but a little shaving foam may just save the day. Simply spray some foam on the wine or food stain in your carpet or clothing. Don’t rub it, but rather let it sit on the stain for a while. Then, just wash the clothing as you normally would. When treating a stain in your carpet, make sure the foam seeps into the carpet – you might want to rub a little. Let it sit for a while and remove the foam with hot water and a towel. Try to dab at the carpet instead of wiping or rubbing.

2. Oven

Another great way to utilise shaving foam in your house is to use it for cleaning the oven. You won’t have to spend hours scrubbing old residue; in fact, this method requires barely any elbow grease. Simply take out the baking tray and spray enough shaving foam on it to cover the whole tray. Put it back in and turn on the oven at 50 degrees Celsius. Wait 30 minutes, turn off the oven and wait for it to cool. Wipe away grease and other grime with a dishcloth.
