What do you think: dish brush or sponge?
Unfortunately, not all of us are lucky enough to own a dishwasher. Maybe one day, but until then, we’ll have to do our dishes by hand. It’s quite the chore every day, but it’s one of those things that simply have to be done. Put on some good music to sing along to, and we’re good to go! We usually prefer using a sponge, because it seems to clean our dishes much more thoroughly. Plus, scrubbing with a sponge is much more effective than doing so with a dish brush. But are we right in preferring our trusty sponge?

Sponge vs. brush
You might think there’s no difference between using a dishwashing brush or a sponge; both do the job when it comes to cleaning your dishes. Well, it turns out there’s actually a pretty big difference between the two! A sponge is the perfect breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria, especially when you don’t wring it out properly when you’re done doing the dishes. A brush, on the other hand, dries much more quickly, which gives the bacteria less of a chance to multiply. Do you insist on using a sponge? Then at least make sure you replace it regularly or clean it with hot water and bleach. A brush is definitely the most hygienic and effective choice, though!
