Born in LA
Meghan came into the world on Aug. 4, 1981, in Los Angeles as Rachel Meghan Markle. She is the daughter of Doria Loyce Ragland and Thomas Wayne Markle. Her mother is African-American and her father has Irish and English ancestry. Young Meg attended Northwestern University and earned her bachelor’s degree in performing arts and international relations. Then she worked for a time lan g at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires.

From embassy to the set
Working at the embassy? That wasn’t quite it for Meghan after all. In 2002, she went after her dream of becoming an actress and kicked off her acting career with a guest role inGeneral Hospital. After that, the she starred in numerous series, including Century City, 90210, Knight Rider, CSI: NY and Castle. But also in films such as A Lot Like Love and Remember Me. Starting in 2011, Meg really became known to the general public thanks to her role in the lawyer series Suits.
House, tree, beast
A few years later, the actress began a relationship with Britain’s Prince Harry. Before that, she was married to actor and producer Trevor Engelson. The two were together from 2004, married in 2011 and divorced in 2013. In November 2016, the British royal family confirmed that Harry and Meghan had been in a relationship for some time. A year later, the two were engaged and in May 2018, they got married. After the ceremony, which took place at St George’s Chapel, Meghan was allowed to call herself Princess of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Duchess of Sussex (Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex), and was given the honorary titles Countess of Dumbarton and Baroness Kilkeel. Meanwhile In 2020, however, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down from their royal duties. Together with little son Archie and little daughter Lillibet, they moved to Los Angeles, where they now live wonderfully as a family.
