It was a busy Thursday afternoon at the city zoo. Families and school groups walked between the exhibits, enjoying the animals and the warm weather. The pleasant day took a sudden turn when a small shiba inu puppy slipped its leash and darted toward the lion habitat.
The puppy was part of a visit from a local elementary school but had wandered off from its group. Before anyone could react, it found a small service gap in the fencing and disappeared inside the lion enclosure. Onlookers gasped as the puppy trotted directly into the habitat.
Everyone watched nervously. A large lion was resting just a few feet from where the puppy now stood. Zoo staff hurried to the enclosure, concerned for the small dog’s safety. But the events that unfolded were not what anyone expected.
