Awaji Kannon or World Peace Giant Kannon is a museum and temple in Japan. The construction started in 1977 and was finished in 1982. Unfortunately, the statue has fallen into disrepair. The crumbling facilities, in addition to an incident which lead to a person passing away, have lead to the local population abandoning the statue. In april 2020, it was announced that the statue is to be demolished by the end of 2022.
