Extremely normal and incredibly close…

We all remember the classic eighties movie Honey, I shrunk the kids. A scientist accidentally shrinks his two teenage children and two other neighborhood teens to the size of insects, which makes them seem entirely different within the context of their world. This works the other way around as well: objects look completely different and disorienting when they’re enlarged because their normal context is missing. 

Look around you and the world seems pretty familiar – but if you look close enough, things can start to look pretty alien. Take a look at these incredible photographs that were all taken in extreme close-up. Each picture is a common item you might have lying around the house, but they can be difficult to make out at first. Can you tell what these everyday objects are when you are only seeing the tiny details?
