Teen Walks Into Hospital With Shoebox — Staff Are Stunned At Its Contents

For several seconds, Noel had been unable to move. Inside the shoebox was a newborn baby wrapped in a thin yellow blanket. A tiny knitted hat covered most of her head, and one fist rested against her cheek. Noel’s mouth had gone completely dry, “Oh my God.” The baby made the same weak sound he had heard through the cardboard.

Beside her lay a clean diaper and a folded piece of paper. Noel picked it up with shaking fingers. There were only two lines: Her name is Lily. Please keep her safe. I’ll come back. Noel looked through the gas-station window, but the road outside was empty. He remembered the man following the woman and suddenly understood that something much bigger was happening.

Then he touched Lily’s hand. Her skin felt cold. Very cold. “No, no, no.” The hospital sign glowed only at the end of the street. Noel grabbed his sweatshirt and wrapped it carefully around her. “Okay, Lily,” he whispered. “We’re going somewhere warm.” When she suddenly stopped making any noise, panic shot through him. Noel leaned over the box until he saw the smallest rise and fall of her chest. Then he ran with her towards the hospital.
