A Seal Climbed Onboard Her Boat and Refused to Leave — Once She Realized Why, It Broke Her Heart.

The seal rolled onto its side, twisting its thick neck to look back at its tail flippers. It let out a sharp, agonized bark, snapping its jaws toward its rear before looking straight back up at Hannah. "What is it?" Hannah whispered, keeping a cautious distance as she crouched down. "What’s wrong with you?"

The seal repeated the motion, violently wriggling its lower body and barking directly at its tail, as if trying to draw her attention to something. But from where she stood, Hannah couldn't see any obvious wounds or fishing hooks. Frustrated by Hannah's confusion, the animal suddenly dragged its heavy body forward, using its front flippers to haul itself all the way up to the bow of the boat.

Perched high on the forward deck, the seal leaned out over the bow railing. It began bobbing its head frantically, barking out toward the vast, empty horizon of the northwest. It wasn't just hiding from the open sea. It was trying to tell her where to go.
