Park Ranger Finds Massive Nest In Forest, Then He Looks Inside

The interior was surprisingly vast and structurally sound, sealed with dried river clay. Brian swept his flashlight across the space. Along one wall lay a sleeping platform built from bundled twigs and covered with wool blankets. In the corner sat a crude makeshift workbench. The sharp, acrid smell of the black smoke was overpowering here. Beside a cold stone basin, Brian’s light caught the glint of a hunting knife.

He stepped closer, a deep chill running down his spine. The blade of the knife was heavily coated in a thick, sticky, dark liquid that looked black in the flashlight beam. It pooled ominously onto the wood below.

Backing away from the table, Brian’s boot knocked against something metallic under the sleeping platform. He knelt and pulled out a small, rusted tin box. Prying the lid loose, he found a folded piece of paper inside. It was a missing person poster.
