When Your Cat Sits On Your Laptop
Every cat owner knows this scene. You open your laptop, settle in with serious intentions, and your cat immediately arrives like a furry manager inspecting your productivity. Within seconds, they are sitting on the keyboard, blocking the screen, or slowly placing one paw on the exact sentence you were trying to read.
This is not always because the laptop is warm, although that certainly helps. Often, your cat has noticed that the glowing rectangle has stolen your attention. You are looking at it, touching it, talking near it, and apparently forgetting that a much more important creature is standing right there.
So when your cat parks itself on your work, the message is fairly direct: “Look at me instead.” It is attention-seeking, in the cutest way. Your cat has learned that interrupting the object of your focus is one of the fastest ways to become the focus. Annoying? Absolutely. Clever? Very.
