Nicole walked out of the jet bridge, holding a fresh coffee. The moment she stepped into the terminal, she spotted Sam standing near the podium, flanked by two airport police officers and the station manager. Before she could even say a word, Sam stepped directly into her path, his arms crossed.
“Why exactly did you do what you did on that flight, Nicole?” Sam demanded, his voice dropping into a low, uncompromising register. Nicole blinked, her triumphant expression instantly faltering into pure bewilderment. She looked past Sam at the police officers, utterly confused as to why the man she had so intentionally removed wasn’t already detained. “Excuse me?” she snapped, trying to brush it off.
“Yeah, you heard me,” Sam said, holding his ground firmly. “Why did you do what you did on that flight? You can’t just exploit the power you have over passengers whenever it suits you.” Nicole completely ignored him, turning frantically to the authorities. “Why isn’t this man detained?”
