In A Minus-15 Blizzard, A 72-Year-Old Woman’s Dog Kept Growling At The Window. When She Looked Past The Glass, Her Blood Ran Cold…

Blinded by the brilliant white light, Evelyn gripped Duke's leather harness with everything she had. Anger rapidly replaced her fear. "Duke, guard!" she commanded, her voice ringing out sharp through the storm.

The ex-service dog didn't hesitate. Duke lunged forward three paces and planted himself firmly in front of Evelyn in a terrifying, low defensive stance. His fur stood on end, and his fierce growl vibrated through the freezing air. The flashlight beam wobbled violently. The figure froze dead in their tracks fifteen feet away, instantly putting their gloved hands in the air.

"Whoa! Hold on! Please, keep the dog back!" the voice cried out. It wasn't a hardened criminal. It was high-pitched, desperate, and cracking with terror. The figure slowly reached up with a trembling hand, pulling down their heavy ski goggles and neoprene face mask. Evelyn blinked in disbelief. Standing in the snow was a shivering, pale young woman wearing a logo on her parka.
