From the outside, there is nothing particularly unusual about the small detached garage sitting behind the family’s main house. It has a simple exterior, a wide garage door and enough room to make you assume it is being used for what garages are normally used for: storing tools, bicycles, boxes and everything else that doesn't quite fit inside the house. But that assumption couldn't be further from the truth. An entire family of four lives inside it.
When the family first explained their unusual living arrangement to friends and neighbors, many assumed they had simply converted part of the garage into a guest room. They hadn't. The parents had transformed the entire garage into a functioning home for themselves and their two children. And from the street, there is almost nothing to suggest what is waiting behind the door.
Rather than leaving the garage as an oversized storage area, they decided to completely rethink its purpose. They insulated the walls, installed proper flooring, added windows and carefully planned every section of the interior. The result is something that looks almost nothing like a garage. And once you step inside, the first thing you notice is just how much they managed to fit inside.
