You get a whole lot of (unwanted) advice when you’re a parent. You have to think not only about your own health but especially about your child’s health. Due to countless studies we now know that we shouldn’t use plastic bottles, cups or food containers that contain BPA. BPA is a harmful chemical that can make you sick if you come into contact with it a lot. However, there are many more chemicals and additives that are bad for your health and that can inhibit the growth and development of your children.
A new study conducted by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that some of the chemicals in food colourings, preservatives and packaging materials can be harmful to the health of your child. This especially concerns the hormones, growth and development of a child. This study even states that childhood obesity can be caused by harmful chemicals in plastic. That’s why it’s better to go for containers made of glass or bamboo.
