We perform the same ritual every morning and evening. Above, below, behind and in front, we brush our teeth with care. Yet there is an important part that – if we’re honest with ourselves – is often skipped. Your gums! Do you leave this part of your mouth untouched? That can be more dangerous than you think.

Around 30 to 45 percent of the world’s population suffers from high blood pressure, which is the main cause of cardiovascular disease. Inflammation in the gums is also a major problem. An estimated fifty percent of the world’s population is affected by poor gum care, and researchers have long suspected that there could be a connection between high blood pressure and gum disease.
