Around 30 to 45 percent of the world’s population suffers from high blood pressure, which is the main cause of cardiovascular disease. Inflammation in the gums is also a major problem. An estimated fifty percent of the world’s population is affected by poor gum care, and researchers have long suspected that there could be a connection between high blood pressure and gum disease.
