4. Potatoes

Potatoes are delicious in a lot of different forms, but it’s best not to eat them raw. Raw potatoes aren’t technically poisonous or toxic, but when they’re unripe and have been exposed to sunlight for a long time they can contain dangerous amounts of solanine. This can cause the same symptoms as eating raw aubergines.

5. Kidney beans

If you eat a fresh, raw kidney bean, directly from the plant, it’ll taste really disgusting. Not only that, but you’ll probably also experience terrible stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea and nausea. Always cook raw kidney bones, and also leave them to soak for five hours before doing so.
