Got discoloured nails? Here’s how you might prevent it or get rid of it

What do you need?

  • Denture cleaning tablet
  • Plastic container or bowl
  • Soft toothbrush
  • A few drops of (lavender) essential oil
  • Washcloth
  • Nail polish remover

This is what you have to do

  • Remove any nail polish that might still be on your nails and wash your hands.
  • Fill the small plastic container with some warm water and put the denture cleaning tablet in there. The tablet will start to fizz a lot, which is why you should add a few drops of lavender oil. The cleaning smell of the tablet will become a lot less intense like this.
  • Then, put your hands in the container for twenty minutes and use the soft toothbrush to carefully scrub at the discoloured parts of your nails.
  • The next step is to rub your nails and hands with the washcloth using circular motions. This hand and nail massage stimulates your blood flow and will make sure your nails will become nice and pink again.
