She Accidentally Ordered a Giant Box of Pool Noodles — But These Simple Hacks Made It Worth It

2. Cleaning Tools Organizer

Linda's cleaning cupboard had another annoying habit. Every broom, mop, brush, and long-handled tool leaned against the wall in roughly the same place. Pull one out, and another usually slid sideways or fell across the floor. She had bought plastic hooks before, but some handles were too thick and others never seemed to sit properly. The pool noodle gave her a flexible option.

She cut a short length of foam and made several deep slots along one side, stopping before the blade went all the way through. Once the noodle was fixed securely to the wall, she could press broom and mop handles gently into the openings. The foam flexed around each handle and held it in place. Suddenly, the cupboard looked calmer, and Linda could grab exactly what she needed without starting a small avalanche.

Placement matters more than appearance here. Linda fixed the holder at a comfortable height, where she could reach every handle without bending low or stretching upward. The cuts also need enough space between them so the tools do not crowd one another. It costs very little, takes only a few minutes, and makes an awkward storage area much easier to use every day.
