4 habits to teach yourself to keep a clean and tidy home

3. Do the dishes right away

Don’t let the dirty dishes pile up in the kitchen, but put them in the dishwasher or wash them up right away. If there are already some things sitting on the kitchen counters, it’s tempting to add more stuff to the pile. Teach yourself to keep the sink clean. In the end, it’s much less trouble to put everything in the dishwasher as soon as you’re done using it instead of having to put an entire pile of dishes in there at the end of the day.

4. Wipe down surfaces

Make sure you always have a dishcloth at the ready to wipe away spills on your counter or tables. That way, you don’t give the spills or stains any time to dry up and you won’t accidentally set something down on top of them. You don’t want to place the book you’re reading onto a sticky spill. Plus, your table and counters will be clean all the time and that looks a lot cleaner and tidier.
