A Hidden Hatch Emerges from the Sand
As more sand was cleared away, the top of a small rusted hatch became visible. It was roughly the size of a manhole cover, dark and dented, with faint markings scratched into the metal. The inscription read simply: SDBX-13.
Police were called to the scene and quickly secured the area. Officers noted that the ground surrounding the hatch felt unusually cold, despite the warm afternoon sun. No one could explain what it was doing there — especially in the middle of a children’s sandbox.
Could it be part of an old sewage system? A forgotten utility access point? Or had it been placed there intentionally?
