Dr. Martin explained that the mother eagle had recently hatched her chicks and may have been seeking help. In a fascinating and rare display of instinct, she appeared to have identified the puppy not as food, but as a source of warmth and companionship for her young.
“What we’re witnessing is exceptionally rare,” Dr. Martin said. “It seems the mother eagle has formed a bond with the puppy. The puppy’s gentle nature may have led the eagle to accept it as a helper to care for her chicks.”
The eagle had, in a sense, adopted the puppy. The puppy, in turn, seemed to be thriving in its new environment, wagging its tail contentedly as it snuggled with the baby eagles. The neighbours watched, captivated by this beautiful and unusual display of animal connection.
