4. Taj Mahal (India)
The Taj Mahal, a gigantic white marble mausoleum found in India, was built from 1631 and 1648 commissioned by the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan. It was built in remembrance of the emperor’s favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It’s widely considered one of the masterpieces of islamic art in India and architecture as a whole.
