Nurses started to recognize the routine. The monkey would climb up a specific side of the hospital and settle near the same wing every time.
Parents would smile and point it out to their children. The kids loved it, some waving from their beds, others pressing small hands against the glass to get its attention.
But nobody could explain why the monkey kept returning to that exact spot, day after day.
