The Largest Statues Found Around The World

1. Statue of Unity, India, 182m / 597 ft

The largest statue in the world is the Statue of Unity. It is located in the state of Gujarat in India and was constructed between 2013 and 2018. The statue depicts Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel, who lived from 1875 and 1950. Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India with a major part of the former British Raj to form the single Union of India.

2. Spring Temple Buddha, China, 128m / 420 ft

The second largest statue in the world is located in China. The Spring Temple Buddha is an enormous statue that was built from 1997 to 2008. When one takes the hill and the pedestal it is placed on into account, it rises a total of 208 meters / 682 ft above the ground. It is made out of copper cast and is dedicated to Vairocana Buddha.

3. Laykyun Sekkya, Myanmar, 116m / 381 ft

The Laykyun Sekkya Buddha is the third-tallest statue in the world. It was constructed between 1996 and 2008. The Layukyun Sekkya Buddha was the tallest statue of the world for a few months, up until the Spring Temple Buddha was constructed. Like the other statues, it’s a popular tourist attraction.
