Within 20 minutes, a heavy sea mist rolled in, thick and fast. The ship was nearly invisible on open waters. The helicopter hovered overhead, confused, circling in search of its vanished target.
But Captain Nolan wasn’t done yet. He ordered two lifeboats lowered, bait. Each was loaded with heat packs and GPS decoys, simulating crew members fleeing. One went east, one west.
