Ava gently scooped it up and wrapped it in a warm towel. The kitten didn’t resist. It clung to her hand with soft paws and stared up with golden eyes.
She brought it inside, fed it some milk, and made it a bed in a shoebox lined with fleece. It fell asleep immediately.
Something about its markings seemed unusual, but Ava brushed it off as a rare coat pattern.
