Larry was exhausted but thrilled. He had just spent the last three days moving the final boxes into his new home—a charming, character-rich, fixer-upper. It was the ultimate bachelor pad, but before he could truly unpack and unwind, it needed a thorough deep clean.
On Sunday afternoon, Larry found himself in the master bedroom, tackling the thick layers of dust left behind by the previous tenants. As he wiped down the baseboards, he noticed a vintage, cast-iron air vent mounted low on the side wall. It was choked with decades of thick cobwebs. Determined to get every speck of dust out, Larry grabbed his broom. He popped the metal grating off the wall and shoved the bristled end deep into the dark ductwork, vigorously twisting and shaking the handle to clear the debris.
Suddenly, a sharp CRACK echoed from deep within the wall cavity. It sounded unmistakably like shattering glass. Larry froze, completely confused. The ductwork was made of heavy sheet metal. Why on earth would there be glass inside his walls?
