While macadamia nuts are especially toxic, other nuts like almonds, walnuts, and pecans can also pose serious risks to dogs. They are high in fat, which can cause pancreatitis, and moldy nuts can contain tremorgenic mycotoxins that lead to seizures.
What to Do: If your dog consumes any kind of nut (especially in large amounts), monitor for signs of vomiting, diarrhea, or tremors, and contact your vet for advice.
