Family Takes Vacation Photo — They Get Goosebumps Looking at This One!

Two weeks earlier, the trip had barely existed as an idea. David had been sitting at the kitchen table on a wet Saturday morning, sorting through bills and work emails. Claire came in with coffee and asked out of the blue, “When was the last time we went anywhere, excluding visiting relatives or attending an event?” David laughed, then realized he could not remember.

They had both been tired for months. David had worked through several weekends. Claire had cancelled two short breaks because something always came up. Neither wanted a complicated holiday. They wanted a few quiet days, somewhere they could walk, eat well, and leave their usual routine behind. Claire opened her laptop and began looking at places within a few hours of home.

Claire found a small coastal town with long walking routes and high cliffs. “This looks good,” she said, turning the screen toward him. David studied the pictures. “Book it before one of us finds a reason not to go.” She did. There was no complicated plan. They wanted walks, decent food, and a change of routine. David packed his camera almost as an afterthought.
