Logger Cut Open Hollow Tree, Looked Inside and Burst Into Tears!

The fog in the Blackfoot Valley didn’t drift; it hung like wet wool, choking out the afternoon light until the ancient pines looked like jagged teeth against a gray sky. Marco Reeves adjusted his grip on his heavy chainsaw. His knuckles were raw, stained with grease and sticky tree sap. He’d spent seven hours clearing storm-damaged trees along Ridge 4, a strip of deep woods so isolated his radio did little more than hiss static.

He stopped before a massive Western Red Cedar. It was an ancient giant, easily a few feet wide at the base, but its bark was dark, soft, and weeping sap—unmistakable signs that the inside was completely rotted out. It was dangerously weak, a hazard to the logging road below, and it had to come down. Marco set his stance, revved the engine to a deafening scream, and pushed the steel saw blade into the trunk to start his cut.

Then, he felt it before he heard it. A sharp, violent shudder vibrated straight up through the saw’s handles—not the familiar resistance of tough wood, but something from deep within the tree. Marco killed the engine. The roar died instantly, leaving behind an eerie, heavy silence.
