Years ago, Diana discovered a tiny lion cub tangled in a hunting trap during one of her morning walks. The cub was weak, scared, and barely alive. Diana couldn’t leave him behind. With careful hands, she freed the cub and brought him home, nursing him back to health with a mixture of porridge and affection.
Simba quickly grew — and grew! Today, he’s over seven feet tall on his hind legs and weighs close to 500 pounds. Despite his size, Simba is gentle with Diana, often curling up by her feet like an oversized cat. Their bond is built on trust and years of shared moments.
But living with such a giant animal isn’t always easy. Simba’s strength is enormous, and his playful swats can accidentally knock over furniture. Diana has reinforced her walls and swapped delicate decorations for sturdy, unbreakable items. Mealtime is another challenge; Simba has a voracious appetite, and Diana spends hours preparing meals large enough to satisfy him.
Despite the challenges, Diana wouldn’t have it any other way. She says Simba fills her home with joy and keeps loneliness at bay. When asked why she took the risk of keeping a lion, she simply smiles and says, “He needed me, and I needed him.”
Their unique friendship is a reminder of how compassion can bridge even the widest gaps. Diana and Simba are living proof that love knows no boundaries—not even species.
