Sam got a bit ticked off. He looked at his completely empty hands, then back up at her. “Yeah, right.” Nicole’s eyes flashed with sudden anger at the remark. The fake sweetness dropped from her voice as she squared her shoulders, leaning slightly into his space. “I’m sorry, sir, but I would really appreciate it if you toned down the attitude.”
Sam stared at her, completely baffled by the sudden accusation. “I’m the one with the attitude? You wouldn’t even serve me. I wasn’t even on my phone—you forced me to put my computer away earlier, remember?” Nicole raised her hands defensively, speaking just loudly enough for the surrounding rows to hear her. “It is simply a misunderstanding, sir. But I will absolutely not condone this type of behavior on my aircraft. So please, just calm down and try to enjoy your flight.”
Before Sam could even utter another syllable, she pushed her cart away, leaving him completely empty-handed and deeply suspicious of her erratic behavior.
