The Japanese Tosa Inu was originally bred for dogfighting and is considered a rare and extremely powerful breed. Unlike many other dog breeds, the Tosa Inu was bred to fight silently, which makes it intimidating and unpredictable in combat situations.

Due to their size and strength, Tosa Inus are banned in Denmark, Norway, Iceland, and the United Kingdom. Even in Japan, where they originated, they are heavily regulated. Although they can be loyal and protective companions, their natural dominance makes them unsuitable for first-time owners. Why they are banned: Large size, past involvement in dogfighting, and unpredictable behavior. Where they are banned: the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, and some parts of Europe.
