Her Tiny Home Has Everything She Needs
After around two decades of living and building in the woods, Emma's little home has become much more than an experiment. It's a reflection of the life she wanted to create. She learned how to build with natural materials, how to collect water, how to prepare for winter and how to make an extremely small space comfortable. But perhaps the biggest change was learning how little she actually needed.
There are no rooms filled with furniture. No cupboards overflowing with possessions. No collection of electrical devices competing for her attention. Instead, there is a warm fire, natural materials, simple belongings and the forest just outside her door. And Emma considers that a form of luxury. Her home may look unusual to someone accustomed to modern housing, but after so many years, she has become comfortable with the work and responsibility that come with this lifestyle.
It certainly isn't for everyone. Living this way requires patience, preparation and a willingness to give up many everyday conveniences. But for Emma, the trade-off seems worthwhile. Her home is tiny. It's unconventional. And it requires plenty of work. Yet after all these years, she has created something that feels completely like her own.
