Addressing Cold Symptoms
Some people believe you can address cold symptoms using aluminum foil. One suggested method involves taking five to seven sheets of aluminum foil and wrapping them around your feet. Proponents suggest leaving them on for about an hour. Then take off the foil for about an hour to let your feet breathe and then rewrap your feet again. They recommend repeating this process every evening. Some report feeling a difference after a couple of nights.
Joint Discomfort
Wrapping your joints in a sheet of aluminum foil is also suggested by some to help with discomfort. You can use a bandage to keep the foil in its place properly. The suggestion is to wrap the foil around the uncomfortable joint before you go to bed and keep it in place during the night. Some people do this for about 7 nights.
Fatigue
Another suggestion is for when you are experiencing fatigue. In that case, one idea is to put a few sheets of aluminum foil in the freezer for two to four hours. Then put the chilled sheets on your face, in particular on your eyelids and cheeks. Get comfortable and you may feel a relaxing effect from the aluminum foil. While we have not personally tested this method, some anecdotal reports suggest it may offer a relaxing sensation. If you are curious, you could try it, keeping in mind individual results can vary.
But while aluminum foil is suggested by some to help ease everyday aches and discomforts, it should never take the place of professional medical attention. Be sure to consult with a physician before trying any home remedies, and continue to take any prescriptions your doctor recommends.
